Thursday 13th - Tuesday 18th September 2018.
Transformative yoga and sound retreat in a land that sees your daydreams and raises you realities. Iceland is an unforgettable travel destination that has you feeling as though you're on another planet. The human gaze is treated to an ever changing, other worldly landscape. One minute it’s snow capped mountain peaks and glacial rivers; moments later spongy moss fields and wild horses with a back drop of cascading waterfalls; followed by baron black lava field as dark as charcoal...
Lolo Lam, Fern E. Trelfa and Cherub Sanson meet at the top of the world for a soulful journey exploring planet earth's immense nature. Yet we won't just be spectators of the Natural World - we will truly immerse ourselves within it. This is not so much a 'site seeing' yoga holiday, but a retreat experience that invites you to explore how the Nature around you can help you explore your true nature as a human being.
It’s an opportunity for us to remember our wildness.
Stand behind momentous waterfalls and feel the pounding of energy in our chests. Dip our feet into a glacier stream and ask courage to engulf mind and body. Meditate on the softness of a mossy mound. Send a flute melody onto the breeze and listen to what whisperings return in the silence. Offer our dreams and intentions to an open horizon with rooted feet and an open heart. Let’s lend our gaze to the galaxy above and open ourselves up to endless possibilities...
We will yoga twice a day, immerse ourselves in planetary gongs and musical mastery, eat nourishing meals with fresh food that has been unearthed from the land just days before.

Lolo Lam will be one of your yoga teachers for your Icelandic adventure...
We cant wait to take Lolo to Iceland. This land and the way she sees the world belong together. Over the past seven years we've watched Lolo make her move from being a nurse to Ayurveda practitioner, and then to becoming the yogini that she is today. Lolo holds integrity and power together with grace. She listens, feels and supports. With Celtic ancestory running through her blood, Lolo is a true creature of Nature.
Lolo’s teaching style takes many forms. Her yoga journey began with the upside down world of Rocket and its high energy vinyasa. Lolo still very much enjoys dipping her toes in this bubbling couldron of prana yet she also enjoys weaving a slower practice together, allowing people to really feely into the asana she is guiding whilst building a warm juicy heat in the body. Some mornings with Lolo you can expect a strong and challenging practice as we play on our hands, yet other times a more mindful and nourishing flow will unravel. This yogini is masterful at adapting the practice so all experiences feel included and welcome.
Lolo’s magic is particularly potent in her restorative and yoga Nidra practice. The body melts to marshmallow form as she sucks time into a vacuum. Even us with the most stubborn of minds can find freedom. These sessions will take place in the evening by an open fire and a setting sun.
Fern will also be your yoga teacher for this Icelandic adventure...
Fern is a kind and creative creature who has come to perceive the practice of yoga as energetic artistry. Her teachings stay rooted in traditional philosophy yet she very much embraces a modern approach to working with the physical.
Fern’s work is underpinned with new discoveries in anatomy and natural human movement. Her physical practice is less about holding static poses and more about exploring the spaces in between. You can expect to move through creative sequencing from your bones, build optimised strength and find more space within your body. You will get underneath the skin of the yoga asana, workshop the stuff that doesn't feel right until you come to embody your practice from the inside out.
Mantra, sound and ceremony are integrated into the offering as powerful tools to work with the energetic body. Fern is passionate in sharing how a regular yoga practice works with the nervous system which can offer truly transformational shifts in how we approach life.
The human body holds incredible wisdom and this is an opportunity to become fascinated by it. Through building an intimate relationship with our human form, we begin to unravel unhealthy patterns within the physical, emotional and mental. When we work openly with the practice, what can emerge is a sense of our true nature as humans, in all our grit, glory and that in between.
Cherub will be your Sound Imagineer...
Cherub Sanson is an electric force of Nature whose purpose is to share with the world the transformational powers of sound. Working closely with musician Tim Wheater, she is a pioneering sound imagineer and an inspiration to many of the incredible sound healers in London. In her sound journeys, you can expect to experience a high frequency fusion of planet gongs, drums, flutes and chimes to guide you into a deep and blissful states of pure presence. The healing harmonics are known to stimulate your immune system and promote the release of seratonin & dopamine - happy chemicals! - helping you to relax & feel amazing.
Maison Fish love working with Cherub – she has an incredible gift for opening the gates of Spirit for those who operate in logic, yet gives those who like to fly a place to land. We ask you to suspend any disbelief when working with our Cosmic Fish, and simply ride her spell to see where you end up.
Our live in chef or 'Mamma Fish' will make sure we are all nourished abundantly deep down into our cells. Our menu is based around whole foods that taste amazingly good. This will be a hearty feast of a vegetarian retreat, of course with any vegans and dietary requests warmly welcomed. All of our ingredients are sourced freshly from local suppliers as best as we can muster with high quality organic products whenever possible. We refuse to compromise on the quality of eggs, dairy or butter. Mamma Fish is happy to talk you through her recipes so you can take the magic home.
Our jaws dropped when we first discovered the new Maison Fish home at the top of the world. We lit a candle and said a prayer to the manifestation Gods, and now we are so excited to make this vision a reality in such a special place.
Situated South of the Island conveniently close to Thingvellir National Park , Maison Fish ICELAND is a premium lodge with its very own fifteen person hot tub, fire pit, gym and sauna. Our retreat home is nestled away from any light pollution at the bottom of a mountain, enabling a truly magical experience of the Northern Lights (if they choose to visit!).
Our house is decorated to a decadent and high standard- think exposed wood, chandeliers and cosy, comfy corners for you to curl up with a book or journal. Maison Fish will transform a sacred space into our spacious yoga shala, adorned with candles and trinklets of magic to create a truly beautiful shell for us to open up and move through our yoga journey.
