We hope you enjoy browsing our retreats. Feel free to email with any questions.
When we tune into Nature and her rhythms an October retreat can feel like the most delicious medicine. As the wilderness sheds its skin, your wild nature may feel drawn to gather with Spirit as the day our elders named the pagan’s New Year approaches.
From here we let time be measured by the length of our breath. We’ll tune into a space beyond right, wrong and the stories we tell ourselves. We won’t promise you divine transformation, but offer you an opportunity to meet yourself. Yet in true Maison Fish style, we will hold you with love and laughter may rupture from deep in your belly. We’ll come together as a cluster of humans for some precious days of living simply, beautifully; gathering around bonfires perhaps with a drum in hand. What might unravel from here could be something a little magical… we shall see.
What we can offer:
Ferny T will lead intelligent yoga in both morning and evening, inviting you to awaken to your body’s wisdom. A surf trip may appeal to adventurous souls, who may also enjoy a fresh water plunge each morning in our lake. Hiking to hillside forts or valleys deep, climbing trees or journaling by a near by river may sing to your wild nature. Night times can be spent in wonder soaking in our Five Elements hot tub, perhaps sharing a story or two with like minded new friends. We will feast together on food that really feeds us, and offer a fire side platform for any artists who may wish to share.
Fern is a kind and creative creature who has come to perceive the practice of yoga as energetic artistry. Her teachings stay rooted in traditional philosophy yet she enjoys weaving the body through an interconnected web of movement, offering a curious approach to the somatic self as a big adventure. You can expect work with the ground, celebrate your spine and mobilise your joints. Moving through creative vinyasa from the inside out, you will explore what it is to move with effortless effort within practice and life.
The human body holds incredible wisdom and Fern is fascinated by it. Through building an intimate relationship with our human form, we begin to unravel unhealthy patterns within the physical, emotional and mental. When we work openly with the practice, what can emerge is a sense of our true nature as humans, in all our grit, glory and that in between. Whole humans are welcomed with love.
This retreat will be held at Maison Fish DEVON, a treasure chest of a farmhouse in the middle of Exmoor National Park. You can expect rolling hills, forests of whispering trees and meandering rivers for us to splash in. Our farmhouse is a premium property, with wooden floors and open fire places. We’ll take our yoga in a converted barn, soak in our Five Elements hot tub under the galaxy, and take a plunge in either the slate swimming pool or private lake. Maison Fish Devon is our home away from home, and we just love watching people's jaws drop when they walk through the door.
Our live in chef will make sure we are all nourished deep down into our cells. Our menu is based around whole foods that taste amazingly good. This will be a heart feast of vegetarian retreat, and any vegans and dietary requests warmly welcomed. All of our ingredients are sourced freshly from local suppliers, and our eggs from the chickens in the field next door. Our chef will work in an open plan kitchen, and is happy to talk you through her recipes so you can go home with some new health food pointers and inspiration. We believe in not only serving a healthy menu, but also providing an education in how you can re-create it at home.
