Wake up the Witches
Wake up the Witches
When we tune into Nature and her rhythms an October retreat can feel like the most delicious medicine. Summer fades into blends of oranges and browns, and space arises to dive deeply into the natural world for all of the goodness it has to offer.
This weekend retreat offers the space to celebrate good friends whilst indulging in a wildly wonderous adventure nestled in the heart of Exmoor National Park. You will stomp in rivers, hike up forts, meditate with the sun and fill your lungs with the freshest of air.
You will be guided through extended yoga practice that will release, restore and challenge your physicality. Voice and sound work will be included as powerful technologies that work to regulate your nervous system. Your voice is your body’s own therapeautic instrument and you will learn how to spread its vibrations throughout your body as a daily tool to rebalance yourself. You will bathe in deeply healing sonic vibrations through a range of therapeutic instruments such as crystal bowls, tuning forks, shamanic drums and a bird song flute.
Maison Fish Devon is an exquisite venue that is nuzzled into nature. You can cold water plunge into our slate pool or private lake, bathe in our five elements hot tub, hug as many trees as you fancy and receive a sense of country living for an o so juicy couple of days.
Our hope is that you feel relaxed, alive and have some deep belly laughs in the process.
Fern will be your guide throughout this weekend. A retreat experience with her is a weave of wisdom, artistry and fun.
Fern’s embodied approach to yoga enables a deep sense of ease, strength and connectivity to human form. She is skilled at guiding the body through an intelligent web of movement, working with repetition and rounds that build in challenge. You can expect to explore your connection to the ground, embrace your human design and move through accessible and playful practice that is designed to feel good.
Fern is passionate in sharing how breath, voice and sound work can be deeply transformative for the nervous system. Guests should come open to an all encompassing yoga practice.
Fern is a kind and creative creature who has come to perceive the practice of yoga as energetic artistry. Her teachings stay rooted in traditional philosophy yet she enjoys weaving the body through an interconnected web of movement, offering a curious approach to the somatic self as a big adventure. You can expect work with the ground, celebrate your spine and mobilise your joints. Moving through creative vinyasa from the inside out, you will explore what it is to move with effortless effort as a means to inspire grace and presence in your wider life.
Fern is passionate in sharing how a regular yoga practice works with the nervous system and can shift how we approach life. Mantra and sound are integrated into the offering as powerful tools to work with the energetic body.
The human body holds incredible wisdom and Fern is fascinated by it. Through building an intimate relationship with our human form, we begin to unravel unhealthy patterns within the physical, emotional and mental. When we work openly with the practice, what can emerge is a sense of our true nature as humans, in all our grit, glory and that in between. Whole humans are welcomed with love.
Our live in chef will make sure we are all nourished deep down into our cells. Our menu is based around whole foods that taste amazingly good. This will be a heart feast of vegetarian retreat, and any vegans and dietary requests warmly welcomed. All of our ingredients are sourced freshly from local suppliers, and our eggs from the chickens in the field next door. Our chef will work in an open plan kitchen, and is happy to talk you through her recipes so you can go home with some new health food pointers and inspiration. We believe in not only serving a healthy menu, but also providing an education in how you can re-create it at home.
This retreat will be held at Maison Fish DEVON, a treasure chest of a farmhouse in the middle of Exmoor National Park. You can expect rolling hills, forests of whispering trees and meandering rivers for us to splash in. Our farmhouse is a premium property, with wooden floors and open fire places. We’ll take our yoga in a converted barn, soak in our Five Elements hot tub under the galaxy, and take a plunge in either the slate swimming pool or private lake. Maison Fish Devon is our home away from home, and we just love watching people's jaws drop when they walk through the door. Please click here for more details on this venue.
